How to transfer a .com, .net, .org, .biz or .info domain name?

A domain name transfer is the process of transferring domain name management from one registrar to another, while the owner remains the same.

Important! Due to new regulations, the owner of the domain name is no longer always public information. When you transfer your domain name to our registrar, you will be asked to specify the owner names and contact details. If you fail to specify the owner names and contact details, the names and contact details from the invoice will be used for the owner. Please note that owner you specify will be the person who is legally responsible and allowed to manage the domain name and receive information about it from now on. You should make sure the details you provide for the owner are always valid and reflect the true responsible person.

Please note transferring a domain name and transferring a website are two completely different procedures.

In order to complete a transfer the releasing registrar issues an authorization code that the owner of the domain name must provide to the receiving registrar.

The next step is to make sure you authorize the transfer. You can either provide the transfer authorization code together with your order in the specified field, or send it to if you get it after you have already submitted your transfer order.

Please note your order will be accepted without the code, but the transfer cannot be completed without it. The transfer will fail.

For generic TLDs, such as .COM, .NET, .ORG, .BIZ, .EDU, there are two additional steps you need to take. First, you need to UNLOCK your domain name from the releasing registrar. It is a status change that is normally done via the control panel you use to manage your domain. Second, after the transfer is completed, we will update the domain name owner information to the information provided with the order. An approval request will be sent to the provided e-mail address for the new owner. You will have 5 days to approve.

If you have successfully authorized the transfer, it will be completed automatically and you will be informed of the successful transfer.
